Hey!

About Jodi

Hello & thank you for taking the time to look at my work. My name is Jodi and I am a wife and a mom to 4 amazing kids, ranging in age from 9 to 22, so believe me, I understand what you’re going through as you get ready for your photo session. I know how you’re feeling and I will understand and laugh when your kids are being goofballs and your husband would rather be anywhere but at this photo session! …But believe me when I tell you it’s worth the planning and the getting ready because we’ll have a great time and your session will be a fun memory for your family. I promise! I try to do as many sessions as possible outside and in a location that means something to you and your family. This makes your photos extra special and our time spent there more meaningful.

I am an accredited child photographer, but enjoy capturing people of any age with my camera. I have photos of rural Alberta published in three Canadian Wheat Board calendars.

I love antiques, especially furniture with chipped up paint, and anything vintage. I especially love scouting out a great find in little out of the way shops or at farm auctions. I try to incorporate some of my treasures into your session if it fits your style and really love using your own family treasures, especially old quilts, books and antique vehicles to make your family photos unique.

I also love travelling and have visited the east and west coasts of Canada, the US, England, Russia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Mexico Peru, Jamaica, Cuba and am heading to Bali soon. I especially love photographing people from other countries…the more character in their face the better. These travel experiences ,that I have been fortunate to have,  taught me that no matter where I am, we are all humans with the same basic needs and wants. We all want to love and be loved and shown kindness and we all love our children just the same, no matter our color, race or class. This has made me a more caring and accepting person towards everyone I meet and for this I am so grateful!

My hope with my photography is that I can document people and their families in a way that is fun, meaningful and stress free. The best compliment that I can receive after a session is that everyone had fun and can’t wait for next time (even the Dad)! I hope that together we can create art for your walls that you can look at every day and think Wow! our life is pretty amazing and that future generations can look at and have a glimpse of what your life was like.

I’d love to talk to you, get to know you better and collaborate on your next photo session!
