I have spent the last several years working on my personal project called The Wisdom Project. I completed the first book called Wisdom of our Elders which featured 78 seniors/elders and their wisdom to pass on to future generations. 

In November, I completed photographing 100 couples for my second book which will be called The Wisdom of Marriage. All couples included in this book have been married over 35 years and shared their best advice and wisdom on how they have maintained a long lasting marriage.

As I photographed all of these incredible couples, I also was able to visit with them and talk about marriage and all that it entails. Without exception, every couple said it wasn’t easy – it takes work and perseverance and a lot of compromise. 

It was inspiring and comforting to hear that all couples go through these ups and downs over the years. What I took from all my conversations is that it’s not easy, but it is definitely worth it!     -jodi
